Welcome to Ruthie's Lens, where I bring your beauty to Light. My name is Ruth and I'm a Maryland-based portrait photographer whose sole vision is to leave my clients with timeless photos worth printing out.
My purpose is to love people well through service and my heart's joy is to see people and make people feel seen. As a result, each image is intentionally captured to accurately tell your story. I guarantee your photos will be worth printing out and your story worth reminiscing.
My photography journey began at 11 years old when my cousin asked me to take pictures for her Tumblr blog (if you know, you know). She taught me the fundamentals of composition, ISO, angling, and framing. I carried on with taking all the photography electives offered in my high school before venturing into purchasing my first DSLR in 2018 while in college. After years of practice, I decided to embark on my passion professionally in 2022.
